OUR THEME FOR TODAY IS:  A Healthy Christmas,is a Happy Christmas.

Can we imagine our NOCHE BUENA without Lechon, Keso de Bola, Hamon, Roasted Chicken/Turkey, Creamy Salad, Cakes, Alcoholic drinks, and etc?

But….

Can we imagine ourselves unhealthy, our body is full of fatty soluble?

I know it’s hard to be on diet during Christmas season. But here is my recipe to maintain being healthy on this special holiday.

COLE SLAW SALAD

INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pcs. CABBAGE ( shred )
  • 1 pcs. CARROTS ( shred)
  • RAISINS ( 50 grams )
  • PINEAPPLE ( 115 grams )
  • 4 pcs.  squared LOW FAT HAM ( cut into small square )
  • 2 Tbsp. LEMON
  • 1 Tbsp. HONEY
  • SALAD DRESSING

HOW TO PREPARE SINCE WE DON’T NEED TO COOK:

  1. I made my own salad dressing. I blend the following:

CHEESE, EGG, OLIVE OIL, MAYONNAISE, GARLIC, SUGAR, WATER, SALT

( You can adjust the taste of your salad dressing, based on what you desired. )

2. In a separate large bowl, place the cabbage, carrots, raisins, pineapple, and low fat ham. Add honey and lemon.

3. Pour a one glass of salad dressing.

4. Mix it well.

5. You can eat it right away if you desired, or you can let it chill in the refrigerator                       about an hour to mingle the flavors.

  • CABBAGE/REPOLYO

cabbage has a packed of nutrients like protein, vitamin C, vitamin B-6, and potassium. It can lower our blood pressure, and can help our body to lower the cholesterol.

  • CARROTS

carrots contain ,vitamin A, vitamin C, Beta-Carotene, potassium, phosphorus. That can help reduce some possible diseases to our body.

  • RAISINS

Raisins are made of grapes. It contains natural sugar that can help to lessen our craving in sweets. Dried raisins is rich in minerals, vitamins, and can give an energy to our body, But eat raisins in moderation.

  • PINEAPPLE

pineapple chunks has a 0.g of cholesterol, rich in vitamins, phosphorus, and zinc. Pineapple are also good for the heart.

  • WHITE ONION

white onion has a fiber and folic acid. Onions can be eaten raw or cooked.

  • LEMON

lemon is rich in vitamin C or ascorbic acid, since it belongs to a family of citrus fruit. Lemon can help our body to fight infections.

  • LOW FAT HAM

ham has a calcium and protein.

PINK LEMONADE (PURPLE CAMOTE TOPS JUICE)

INGREDIENTS:

  • Purple Camote Leaves
  • 10 pcs. calamansi
  • sugar syrup

HOW TO MAKE:

  1. Boiled the camote leaves ( moderate quantity of leaves ) to a 3 cups of water. Then remove the leaves use a strainer to make it easy.
  2. Add 2 cups of of water. Then add the calamansi, you will notice the juice will turned to pinkish color.
  3. Add the sugar syrup ( made from boiled water and sugar ) stir it well. You can also add honey if you want.
  4. Serve it, chill with fresh lemon slices.

camote leaves has a properties for anti diabities , anti oxidant, anti bacterial, maintain heart health, and reduces inflammation. In camote leaves we can also make a salad for healthy diet.

  • CALAMANSI

CAM

citrus fruit like calamansi has a pack of vitamin C or ascorbic acid. That can boost collagen production to our body. It also strengthens our immune system.
